Eastern Deanery AIDS Relief Program (EDARP) was started in 1993 as a Faith Based Organization providing community -based health care with the Slums in the Eastern side of Nairobi.

EDARP was a response to the emerging need for home-based care for persons who were being discharged from hospitals back to the community while still unwell. These patients needed care and most of their family members were not able to understand why the hospitals could not keep the patients until they were cured.
